is new professional network for the promotion of early music within and outside of Denmark.
Early Sound will initially focus on the coordination and distribution of information regarding concerts, masterclasses and other relevant events, and to promote and facilitate connections between ensembles, musicians, concert organizers, audiences and public institutions. In a longer perpective Early Sound aims for a close dialogue with partners in the nordic countries, EU and the rest of the world, to initiate international collaborations, masterclasses and festivals, and to act as ambassador for early music in general, representing the professional danish early music scene in international federations, organisations and other relevant contexts. The initiative to Early Sound is taken by Lars Henriksson (Concerto Copenhagen), Else Torp (Ars Nova Copenhagen, Theatre of Vocies), Thomas Pitt (The Royal Danish Academy of Music) and Björn Ross (Copenhagen Renaissance Music Festival, Nordic Network For Early Opera). Early Sound will be formalized as an organization some time during 2009.
